When I go back to my memories of early mobile phone life, the first thing coming to my mind is the (old) Airtel ringtone composed by AR Rahman. When my Dad presented me a mobile phone with a Airtel connection for passing the tenth class with distinction I hardly knew anything about Airtel. But, that was the perfect start and gradually a strong bond developed between me and Airtel.
I am still using the same Airtel connection but in a different, advanced smartphone. Yes, big changes happened in technology within few years such that almost everyone is equipped with smartphones. Today, mobile phones are not only a device to call and sms but also the device for browsing, chatting and shopping. With the expansion of telecommunication sector, Airtel expanded its services too.
Airtel offers various services including landline, broadband, DTH etc. As a telecom company Airtel has a steady and progressive journey considering the advancement in technology. Nowadays, people including me are living 'app' life. Because apps make life easy, with a finger touch numerous services can be accessed easily. Seeing this, Airtel also launched an app named My Airtel app exclusively for Airtel customers.
As a loyal Airtel customer, I have installed My Airtel Android app on my Moto E and checked whether it's useful or not. I have to say, the app is simply awesome and extremely useful for Airtel customers. It's clearly evident that Airtel has put great effort to develop this app. The app is light with only around 5 mb size (for my phone). Installation and setting up of the app is very easy and can be done in few seconds.
I found following three features of My Airtel app are making me to think that this app is a must for all Airtel customers.
1. Simplicity
Yes, simplicity is the key. My Airtel app has a simple interface and is very easy to follow. Setting up, adding accounts, paying bills and buying recharges are very easy with the simple but beautiful user interface. Now, I don't have to remember those USSD codes as talktime balance and data balance are given in the app itself.
2. All services under one umbrella
Yes, this app is not only for Airtel mobile connection but also for other services like Airtel DTH, Airtel broadband and Airtel landline connection.Thus now onwards I don't need to rush nearby shops to recharge my phone and TV, I can do all with few touches using my Airtel app.
3. Shake and get big offers
Don't think this app is just for recharging and knowing status of Airtel services because the app has this unique feature to get big and exciting offers- you just need to shake your phone to obtain great offers. In my first shake I received an offer in which I got extra Rs 25 talktime for recharging above Rs 50. Really cool na?!
